Mother's Day: Shop for Mom and Save for College

Tuesday April 15, 2008
Mother's Day is less than a month away. Sunday, May 11th to be exact.

(Some of you owe me big time for just reminding you of that fact.)

When you sign up for a free UPromise account and shop for mom, participating retailers will deposit a few bucks into a college account for your child.

Here are some of my favorite UPromise retailers for Mother's Day and the percentage of your purchase they donate back to your child's college account.

Flowers
1-800-Flowers.com - 10%
FTD.com - 12%
FlowerStore.com - 15%

Gifts Baskets & Food
StarbucksStore.com - 5%
HickoryFarms.com - 5%
GiftBaskets.com - 10%
Godiva.com - 3%
Harry & David - 3%

Clothes
Nordstrom.com - 3%
Saks Fifth Avenue - 3%
Macy's - 3%
Victoria's Secret - 4%

Of course, these are just a few of over 800 retailers and restaurants.

If you haven't signed up for a UPromise account, you should! It's free and doesn't increase your price at the register.
