Have You Used GimmePleez.com?

Wednesday May 27, 2009
I've received a couple of emails and forum posts lately about GimmePleez.com, a website that allows friends and family to help you save for college. While I haven't used it personally, it looks like both an interesting idea and relative new website (which makes me leary).

So, I'm curious if anybody has used it? Do you like it? Do you have any criticisms, suggestions, or better alternatives?

Feel free to post your comments below.

Thanks!

You’re right it is brand new, but a really interesting and useful site. I like it because when my kids have birthdays or other holidays we can provide our profile URL to our friends and relatives and they can directly donate towards our college savings efforts. We created a profile a couple weeks ago and have had found it really easy to use and secure. We have a long way to go to pay for college but we plan to use this as one of our tools to get there.

It is new and my kids are really into it. This gives them something to shoot for as far as saving their money & look forward to for their b-days, holidays etc. They’re even telling their friends and yes it’s for “kids” of all ages (even the grown-up ones).
